A native of Ecuador, Dr. Francisco Mora joined the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson faculty in 2021, following completion of his Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He previously trained in both General Surgery and Internal Medicine at the U of A.

Dr. Mora serves as a member of the Office of Global & Border Health and is a core faculty member of the Internal Medicine Residency Program in Tucson. His academic interests include critical care medicine, medical education, and global and rural health.

His global health experience spans clinical, educational and collaborative work in diverse settings, including Native American reservations in the United States and international projects in the Amazon rainforest, Kosovo, the Philippines, Ecuador, Paraguay and Brazil. He also served as the Latin American coordinator for the Panamerican Trauma Society’s Essential Trauma Care Guidelines Project, contributing to regional efforts to improve trauma care systems and education.

Dr. Mora is certified in Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and is an ATLS Instructor.
