Why University of Arizona? When applying, I was looking for a program that was able to train general surgeons at the end of five years, but also offered an academic background to support fellowship training.
As a general surgery resident, you have one day off a week. Would you rather be in some massive city on your day off, or hiking the mountains in your backyard?
