Hojin Seo, DO

Resident, University Campus: PGY-2

Where are you from? Phoenix, Arizona

What are your personal interests and hobbies? Running and baking single-serve desserts.

What are your professional interests? Medical education, medical policy and advocacy.

Why did you choose our program? I completed an audition rotation at the U of A and was impressed by how dedicated the residents were to teaching and mentoring medical students. Whether or not I ended up choosing the U of A, they were genuinely invested in helping me build the skills to become a strong resident anywhere. I also wanted to train at a program that had exposure to both academic and community medicine.

What is your favorite activity in Tucson or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program? My favorite activity in Tucson would have to be running on The Loop. It’s an incredible mixed-use path around the city. Plus, my husband and I met in Tucson, so we were excited to come back home.

What are your nonmedical goals during residency? I would love to continue my goal of running a half-marathon in every state. I’m up to 10 states.
