Where are you from? Mesa, Arizona

What are your personal interests and hobbies? I love to craft and garden. On weekends, I like to go to the farmers market at Rillito Park. I also like to spend my free time with my partner cooking, playing board games and relaxing with our three kitties, Fruitloop, Mr. Crunch and Ahsoka Tano.

What are your professional interests? Social EM, rural medicine, global health 

Why did you choose U of A emergency medicine? South Campus has everything I am looking for in residency. I like that SC is a community hospital with the support of an academic center and also offers opportunities for rural rotations and learning Spanish. The residents are always so kind and welcoming, and everyone I’ve met seems genuinely happy to be there. 

What is your favorite activity in Tucson, or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program? The food scene is great, my extended family lives here, and I love the Sonoran Desert. 

What are your nonmedical goals during residency? Read more (or listen to more audiobooks), have a thriving garden, maybe adopt a dog.
