Jordan Gotwalt-Bish, MD

Resident
Combined EM/Peds: PGY-2
Dr. Gotwalt-Bish

Where are you from? Phoenix, Arizona

What are your personal interests and hobbies? Reading, arts and crafts (including cross-stitch, crochet, knitting, latch hook ... many things), hiking, rock climbing and camping. I also enjoy hanging out with my husband and finding new rom-coms to watch.

What are your professional interests? I’m interested in working in rural communities as an emergency medicine physician and pediatric hospitalist.

Why did you choose our program? To train in the awesome combined EM‐Peds program! As a University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson graduate, I was extremely supported by faculty in both the emergency medicine and pediatrics programs and was looking to continue with those relationships in residency. In addition, I can continue my research looking at pediatric coccidioidomycosis and enjoy the outdoors of Tucson.

What is your favorite activity in Tucson or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program? Camping on Mount Lemmon and climbing at Rocks & Ropes.

What are your nonmedical goals during residency? To finally keep a garden alive, finish all of my ongoing crafts and complete my TBR.
