Jose Gutierrez, MD

Dr. Gutierrez was born in Falls Church, Virginia, and raised in Trujillo, Peru. After graduating from high school, he moved to the United States to pursue his education and training in medicine. He enjoys drawing on his cultural background to connect with patients and values the opportunity psychiatry provides to understand each person’s story in the context of their life experiences.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Gutierrez enjoys playing soccer, hiking, cooking and watching movies as ways to maintain balance. He loves exploring new places, whether traveling with his family or discovering local history and culture closer to home. In the kitchen, he enjoys preparing meals that blend his Peruvian roots with new influences he has picked up along the way. Dr. Gutierrez values empathy and cultural awareness in patient care and strives to bring curiosity, trust and compassion into every interaction.
