Josephine Galarza Acuña, MD
Dr. Acuña has worked closely with the various colleges at the University of Arizona Health Sciences lecturing on the use of bedside ultrasound, providing hands-on ultrasound teaching sessions to students and has been involved in projects to integrate ultrasound education into the core curriculum. Dr. Acuña served as past chair of the Diversity and Inclusion committee for the college and remains closely involved with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She has authored several manuscripts and book chapters in emergency ultrasound, and has lectured at national venues. She has also served on several national committees related to point-of-care ultrasound. Her most recent publications have focused on gender inclusion and diversity in academic medicine.
