Joshikha Madhav, MBBS
Where are you from? Singapore!
Why did you choose the College of Medicine – Tucson Pediatrics Residency Program? This might sound really cliche, but it was the people! My interview was one of the best ones I had, and everyone had so many stories that I loved listening to and were incredibly nice to me. I got the vibe that I was going to feel supported throughout my training on interview day. I’m also really used to hot temperatures having lived in tropical areas my whole life, so I did not mind the weather at all.
What are your current professional interests and career goals? I am unsure if I want to pursue a fellowship after residency or if I want to stick to general pediatrics. If I were to do a fellowship, my current interests lie with GI or PICU, but I’m hoping to figure this out along the way!
What are your personal interests and hobbies? I love making my own barista-style drinks at home, and I also love making drinks for other people! I also like to bake little treats for myself and would love to start making larger batches for my friends and coworkers! I also am a huge reader, and I hope to add more books to my collection this year!
What are your nonmedical goals during residency? I would love to explore new places as much as possible and maybe start a few new hobbies like pottery or crocheting. Most of all, I hope to have a lot of fun learning and make some lifelong friends along the way.
