Dr. Canova-Gaitros was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. During medical school, she chose to spend an additional year of training to complete an undergraduate clinical teaching fellowship and continues to have a passion for medical education at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  

Outside of training, you can catch Dr. Canova-Gaitros watching a myriad of different sports throughout the year (especially FSU athletics, the NFL and the WNBA), visiting the beaches back in Florida, checking out new restaurants, watching movies and spending time with her cat, Cairo. She enjoys playing the piano and singing when time allows.
