Lindsey Gagnon, MD

Resident
Combined EM/Peds: PGY-3

Where are you from? New Orleans.

Why did you choose the College of Medicine – Tucson Pediatrics Residency Program? I wanted to join a combined EM and pediatrics program, and UA was the right fit for me. I love the people within the program, the faculty teaching and mentorship, and all the outdoor activities Tucson offers. The relationships between the residents and with the faculty at UA drew me into this program the most. There is truly a family feeling in the culture of UA, where faculty are willing and eager to teach and residents are genuinely supportive of each other. After completing an away rotation here, I just couldn’t wait to come back.

What are your current professional interests and career goals? A mix of adult and pediatric emergency medicine. As a combined emergency medicine and pediatrics physician, I hope to work in a rural setting in both an ER and a private pediatrics clinic.

What are your personal interests and hobbies? All things outdoors! Hiking, camping, biking, snowboarding, long walks with my dog and taking my 1-year-old to the Desert Museum.

What is your favorite thing about Tucson? Its diversity of activities in and around the city. I still cannot believe so many hiking spots around Tucson can be done within a day trip! And for days when I want to be less active, I love exploring the downtown and 4th Avenue area shops and craft breweries.

What are your non-medical goals during residency? To continue growing my family and my backyard homestead, improve my trivia skills, land a snowboarding jump, bike from the base to the top of Mount Lemmon, and explore as many national parks in and around Arizona as possible.
