Where are you from? Portland, Oregon

What are your personal interests/hobbies? I love all things sports, whether it’s watching or playing, I live for a good weekend sports line-up (Go Ducks! Go Ravens! Go Diamondbacks!). I also love trying new restaurants, baking gluten-free treats, hanging out with my people and doing Pilates.

What are your professional interests? Besides emergency medicine and pediatrics, I’m also interested in sports medicine, ultrasound, toxicology and palliative care. I’m excited to see where life takes me!

Why did you choose our program? It’s simply the best, hands down! Best people, best vibes and absolutely the best place to train. I was lucky enough to do the EMD 845: Emergency Medicine/Critical Care away rotation during my fourth year, and from Day 1, I knew these were my people. The residents and faculty are not only smart but genuinely kind, down-to-earth and inspiring. This program checked every box for me and then some. I’m so happy I get to train here for the next five years! Thank you U of A EM/Peds for choosing me, too!

Favorite activity in Tucson, or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program? I’ve always loved Arizona! Growing up, I spent almost every spring break in Tucson with my family, and the city quickly won me over. From peaceful morning runs through the desert hills (nothing beats a desert sunrise), to golfing on gorgeous courses, to eating my way through some amazing local eats, I’ve loved it all. I don’t think I can pick just one favorite activity, but I can say I’m excited to find some new ones!

What are your non-medical goals during residency? I have a few non-medical goals on my residency bucket list: adopt a miniature dachshund, finally see the Grand Canyon, proudly become a Wildcat fan (currently loading) and soak in the sunshine this native Oregonian has been missing all her life!
