Mairead H. McConnell, PhD

Dr. McConnell is a licensed clinical psychologist at the University of Arizona Cancer Center. As a clinical health psychologist, Dr. McConnell specializes in psycho-oncology: the psychological care of individuals living with cancer. Her research focuses on the intersections of psycho-oncology and palliative care, exploring how patients with advanced cancer can live meaningfully in the face of mortality. She is trained in multiple evidence-based interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, managing cancer and living meaningfully, and pain reprocessing therapy. Her clinical interests and expertise also include end-of-life and existential concerns, grief, and bereavement.
