Michael Grandner, PhD, MTR
Michael Grandner, PhD, MTR, is a licensed clinical psychologist and is certified in behavioral sleep medicine. Dr. Grandner's work focuses on sleep and circadian health and their connections with physical health, mental health, and daytime functioning. His research examines the upstream social, behavioral, environmental, and biological factors that shape sleep; the downstream cardiovascular, metabolic, cognitive, and behavioral consequences of sleep and circadian disruption; and the development, evaluation, and implementation of interventions that improve sleep and health. His work spans population health, behavioral sleep medicine, clinical and translational research, sleep and circadian measurement, and emerging technologies. A major focus of his research is translating sleep science into practical strategies that can improve health at the individual, clinical, community, and population levels. Dr. Grandner is also active in professional education, public communication, and national efforts to integrate sleep into broader models of health and health care.
