Nehaw Sarmey, MD

Assistant Professor, Neurosurgery

In addition to being part of the teaching faculty in the Neurological Surgery Residency Program, Dr. Sarmey provides neurosurgical care at Banner University Medical Center, with expertise in the surgical care of both adult and pediatric patients with difficult-to-treat, medically-refractory epilepsy. She currently works with the multi-disciplinary Arizona Comprehensive Epilepsy Program to provide epilepsy surgery care, including surgical resection, invasive EEG monitoring such as stereo-electroencephalography, awake craniotomy/brain mapping techniques, corpus callosotomy and neuromodulation treatments.

Outside of epilepsy, Dr. Sarmey provides a wide variety of neurosurgical care, including treatment of primary brain tumors, brain and spine metastases, normal pressure hydrocephalus, Chiari malformation and degenerative spine disease. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care for her patients.
