A nationally-recognized rheumatologist, physician-scientist, and educator, Dr. Nora Singer’s career has focused on advancing clinical research, improving patient care and mentoring the next generation of rheumatology investigators.

A dedicated leader in academic medicine, Dr. Singer has held numerous national leadership roles within the American College of Rheumatology, Arthritis Foundation, and Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA). She has served on NIH study sections, chaired national grant review committees, and has been recognized for excellence in teaching, mentorship and clinical research. Her commitment to advancing rheumatology extends from pioneering research to training future physicians and scientists while improving the lives of patients with arthritis and autoimmune diseases.

Her clinical interests include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Sjögren's disease, osteoarthritis, vasculitis, pediatric rheumatic diseases and other systemic autoimmune disorders.

Research Interests

Dr. Singer's research spans both adult and pediatric rheumatic diseases, with particular interests in rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren's disease, immune-mediated inflammatory disorders, translational immunology, and clinical trials. Throughout her career, she has led and collaborated on numerous National Institutes of Health and foundation-funded studies investigating autoimmune disease mechanisms, novel therapeutics, biomarkers, and regenerative medicine. She has authored or co-authored more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has served as an associate editor, editorial board member, and reviewer for many of the field's leading rheumatology journals.
