Dr. Akers is an Arizona native who is incredibly happy to be returning to the desert after a decade spent in the Midwest.
Outside of clinical training, Dr. Akers balances her professional life with a variety of hobbies. She is an avid fan of immersive, story-driven video games and enjoys the mindful, detailed artistry of cross-stitch. Additionally, she loves tending to a growing collection of houseplants and built a custom cabinet greenhouse to help her tropical houseplants thrive in the desert environment. At home, her world revolves around her pugnacious tortoiseshell cat.
