Dr. Fisher began his career as a volunteer EMT and firefighter in rural Ohio and later became a paramedic for several Ohio agencies. He then served as a volunteer paramedic at Grand Canyon National Park, developing a strong interest in wilderness and austere medicine. During fellowship, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by serving as a flight physician.

Dr. Fisher teaches in the Bachelor of Science in EMS program, serves as Medical Director for the Paramedic Training Program, and is Associate Medical Director for Northwest Fire District. He also serves as Medical Advisor for Saguaro National Park, Petrified Forest National Park, and the Flagstaff Area National Monuments.

He met his wife, a Tucson native, during residency. They share two Goldendoodles and love to travel, currently exploring every US National Park and state in Mexico. In his free time, he enjoys reading sci-fi and fantasy in his hammock, hiking, biking, and spending time with friends and family.
