Wyatt Snell, MD
Where are you from? I grew up in Litchfield Park, Arizona, but came to Tucson originally for my undergrad and have been here for a decade, so I like to think I can call myself a T-Loc.
What are your personal interests and hobbies? Baking, especially my sourdough loaves, woodworking, cycling farther than I should, hitting a bluebird powder day and national park hopping.
What are your professional interests? Besides pediatrics and emergency medicine, I have interests in ultrasound and rural/austere medicine and would love to staff McMurdo Station someday.
Why did you choose our program? The combined program here is unmatched, and I knew it would provide the best training for my future career goals. Plus, having done medical school here, I was exposed early on to the wonderful and supportive community of people who make this place feel like a second home.
What is your favorite activity in Tucson or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program? It would be easier to list what I don’t like about this city. From hitting some dirt laps at Honeybee to backpacking Hutch’s Pool and every coffee and taco shop in between, there seems to be no end to the gems of Tucson.
What are your nonmedical goals during residency? Keep up my baking experiments, build out a camping rig, Gym 244 workouts and as much traveling with my partner as we can fit.
