Internal Funding Opportunities – Trainee Initiated
These are some of the opportunities available specifically to UArizona graduate students and can be found on the UArizona Graduate College Funding Opportunity Page.
- Graduate Access Fellowships that provide up to $8,000 fellowship for incoming domestic masters and doctoral graduate students.
- Richard Harvill Fellowships that provide a $12,000 fellowship plus full tuition for doctoral graduate students who have completed their bachelors in spring 2023 and been admitted to a graduate program for fall 2023.
- Peter W. Likins Graduate Fellowship that provides a $10,000 fellowship plus full tuition for a masters or doctoral student who has overcome challenges to achieve academic progress in graduate program.
- University Fellows Program that provides a competitive financial package ($32,000 plus full tuition and student health insurance), professional development programming, mentoring and community engagement opportunities to recruit top doctoral track graduate students.
- Graduate Tuition Scholarships for cross discipline graduate student programs such as National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships, and ARCS Foundation Scholars and training grants that support graduate students from more than 2 academic colleges.
- Dr. Maria Teresa Velez Diversity Leadership Scholarship honors Dr. Velez and her lifelong commitment to promoting graduate student diversity and inclusion. The award is $25,000, full tuition and student health insurance.
- Marshall Foundation Dissertation Fellowship and the Dr. Maria Teresa Velez – Marshall Dissertation Scholarship provides 7 awards (generally $10,846 plus full tuition and student health insurance) that support dissertations that show significant impact to the economy of the state of Arizona.
- Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows Program supports community-based internships through .25 FTE graduate assistantships. Information on the program may be found at https://grad.arizona.edu/peacecorps/

- Tech Launch Az Student Entrepreneurial Fellow: UA Tech Launch Arizona and the Graduate College collaborate to provide U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident degree-seeking graduate students (main campus only) to gain practical startup company and technology commercialization experience.
